JULY 2009: Ministry of Helps

JCF is delighted to report the successful intervention on behalf of each one of the lives mentioned below through the assistance of donors in the US and around the world.  Thank you all for stepping up when the need was urgent and giving hope to each life by your donations and prayers.

Below are a few of the needs that JCF contributors helped to meet through their generous donations in May and June of 2009.

A 20 year old South Lebanese Christian girl needs a scholarship for college.  She will begin studying this year in October.  She is a kind and generous young woman who has grown up heavily needed by her parents.  They depend on the income that she brings in to help care for her brothers and sisters and her ability to speek Hebrew helps the family since neither of her parents are very capable with the language.  Her famiy have been refugees in Israel from Hezbollah ever since 2000 when Israel pulled out of Lebannon.  She applied to and was accepted at a college close to home in Tzfat so she can continue to help her family. She will study social behavior the first year and then if her grades are good she will move into the nursing school track.  She has to make her first tuition payment of 3,000 shekels (about $780)  the first week of July.  JCF would like to help this precious young woman.  Please consider giving, even a small amount to help build her future and the future of her family.

JCF was able to help, but more funds are needed to help keep this young bright and promising girl in college.

George is a South Lebonnese Christian refugee.  He is in need of extensive dental care.  The dentist told him it will cost 8,000 shekles (about $2100) to take care of the extensive tooth decay.  He has been saving money and trying to take care of the problems little by little. He works 6 days a week on a poultry and egg farm and makes minimun wage.  Most of the money he makes goes to help support his parnets and brothers and sisters.
He is not the kind of young man to ask for help but the pain drove him to seek detanl treatment.  ANY help at all for this young man will change his situation.  Please if you are led to give to help George please send a donation for him to JCF.

JCF was able to help make this dental repair possible.

These stories are of families in desperate circumstances, but they are also opportunities to change peoples lives, to give them hope.  These families will tell their stories for the rest of their lives and that story will include how God helped them through Christians who gave generously when they heard of their need.  This is our chance to bring honor to the name of our Lord by following his commands.  Please partner with JCF: pray for these families and give what you can. When we all give our widows mites together we can make a difference.
