Evangel Paul Kopp has ministered in over 70 countries since the 1940’s, praying for healing for the sick and salvation for the lost. He has visited Israel many times, his first trip being in 1954. He currently serves on the pastoral staff of the Hispanic congregation of Angelus Temple in Los Angeles, California.
Charles (Chuck) Kopp (Chairman) first came to Israel in 1959, but has permanently lived in the Land since 1966. He is the Senior Pastor of Narkis Street Congregation in Jerusalem and the Chairman of the United Christian Council in Israel, an alliance of 29 Protestant evangelical bodies in Israel.
Elizabeth (Liz) Kopp has lived in Israel since 1967. She is the head worship-leader of Narkis Street Congregation. Liz has worked with several orphanages in Bethlehem over the last three decades. She and Charles have seven children: Dalia, Sharona, Danny, Julie, David, Jesse and Annika.
Jon (Yoni) Gerrish (Israel Director) A graduate of Belmont University, Nashville TN, has lived in Israel most of the time since 1982. He is a licensed Israel tour guide with a special affinity for wilderness hikes and camping trips. He holds an M.A. from Jerusalem University College in New Testament Backgrounds. Yoni is married to Dalia (Kopp) Gerrish and she helps edit all of our publications. They have four young children: Evan, Eliot, Milana and Taline.
Larry and Mary Ehrlich (USA Directors)
have had a focus of ministry towards Israel since the 1960's. Larry was U.S. Director of Bridges For Peace from 1994-2002. He holds an M.Div from Lutheran School of Theology, Chicago, Illinois and a Ph.D from Oxford Tennessee. The Ehrlich's also ministered many years at Twin City Fellowship, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Mary Ehrlich mangages most of the affairs and accounting for our U.S. office.Dania Minor (Charity Fund Director) was born and raised in Israel. After her military service in the Israeli Army she studied Arabic in Amman, Jordan, and holds a B.A. in Bible from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She has worked with reconciliation projects in Sudan, in orphanages in Sri Lanka, and with Musalaha Ministry of Reconciliation in Jerusalem. She and her husband, Wes have two young boys: Sean and Gabriel.
Jim and Betsy Gerrish (Staff and advisors JCF) have lived and ministered in Israel much of the time since 1982. They volunteered with Bridges for Peace for nearly fourteen years. In 1997, they founded the Galilee Study Center and worked there until 2001. They recently returned to Jerusalem to help with the general office administration, writing, editing and newsletter production. Jim holds an M.Div from Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.
Stephen and Bethany Slater (Editor/Staff Writers) moved to Isreal in 2006 so that Stephen could pursue an M.A. in Jewish Civilization at the Hebrew University. Stephen and Bethany hold B.A degrees in Philosophy from Hillsdale College and Bethany has an M.A. from Oxford Univeristy in Jewish Studies. She has worked in Uganda as an educator and has ministered to non-Israelis comming to Isreal for heart surgery through the work of Shevet Achim. They both have a heart for teaching and studying the scriptures within their Jewish context.
Randall Buth (BLC Director) spent nearly twenty years in East Africa as a Bible Translator. He and his family have lived in Israel off and on over the last three decades (currently since 1996). He holds a Ph.D. from UCLA in Semitics. He teaches at the Rothberg School of the Hebrew University and is the founder of the Biblical Language Center in Jerusalem.
Matthew Doll (Artistic Consultant) has lived in Jerusalem since 2002. He holds a Master’s of Fine Arts degree from Cranbrook Academy of Art. He currently teaches drawing at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design and a visual art course at the Bethlehem Bible College.
Rena Jackson (U.K. Rep) was born and raised in Israel. She has a B.A. and an M.A. in English literature from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the Open University UK, and is a freelance writer.
Gary Alley (Contributing Writer and BLC Staff) has lived in Israel since 1995 when he first came as a Journeyman with the Southern Baptist Convention. He holds an M.A. in Religious Studies from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and is a pastoral assistant at the Narkis Street Congregation in Jerusalem.
Sharon Alley (Contributing writer and BLC Staff) visited Israel throughout her childhood and adolescence while growing up in East Africa. She moved to Israel in 1994 to begin studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She holds a B.A. in Hebrew Bible and is currently completing her Master’s degree in biblical studies. She has taught Biblical Hebrew since 1998.
Danny Kopp (JCF Adviser) was born and raised in Israel. He studied Arabic in Amman, Jordan and worked as a reporter, translator and researcher for the Jerusalem bureau of the Financial Times. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Middle Eastern Studies from Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He currently resides in Washingon D.C. and works with Arabic media for translation and analysis.
